The New York City Football Club (NYCFC) is going to the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup final on Saturday, Dec. 11, for the first time in their seventh competitive season.

Red Bulls Eliminated From Playoffs – The Brooklyn College Vanguard

The New York Red Bulls journey to win the Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup for the first time came to an end on Nov. 20. They suffered a 1-0 loss to Philadelphia Union at Subaru Park.

The goal came in stoppage time during extra time. Jakob Glesnes scored in the 123rd minute to send Union to the next round of the MLS Playoffs. It was also the latest goal scored in MLS history.

Both teams were on the brink of going to penalties right before Glesnes was able to score a volley late in stoppage time.

Red Bulls Make Playoffs – The Brooklyn College Vanguard

The New York Red Bulls were able to make it to their 12th Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup playoffs. After a rollercoaster of seven months and 34 games later, they were able to achieve the playoff spot on Sunday afternoon.

They played their final game of the season away against Nashville SC at the Nissan Stadium. The Red Bulls got on the scoresheet in 38 seconds with a goal from Fábio Roberto Gomes Netto. Nashville was able to equalize with a goal from Hany Mukhtar in the 37th minute.
